Auburn University at Montgomery campus
Public

The state of Alabama founded Auburn University at Montgomery (AUM) in 1967, at the request of the Montgomery Chamber of Commerce. Then, like now, growing businesses desperately needed a deeper pool of educated employees. AUM's original mission involved support of government at all levels. Just seven miles east of the state capitol, today AUM continues to support a number of local, state and regional government functions, but our mission is much bigger. We have unique programs, unavailable anywhere else in the region, including Geographic Information Systems, Hospitality and Tourism, Homeland Security, and Cybersystems and Information Security. We serve an interesting mix of traditional and non-traditional students. Some are right out of high school, while others have been working for years. Together, they bring diverse experiences into the classroom that makes for a far more interesting and dynamic learning environment. People who come to AUM are serious about their education and they aren't here (just) for the party. From your first days on campus, you'll be surrounded by people who take their education seriously. You'll find that you constantly motivate and inspire each other. Why Auburn University at Montgomery At AUM, high standards and personal attention combine to create a world-class educational experience. Excellent Academics: AUM ranks among the South's top universities by U.S. News and World Report. Consistently chosen the best university in the area, Auburn Montgomery provides students with detailed knowledge and hands-on, practical experience, often from professionals in the field. In the College of Business, for example, students learn from faculty members who were former managers of Fortune 500 companies, renowned economist, certified public accountants, researchers, and software developers. Students can also gain real-world experience by participating in internships at area companies. Personal Attention: At AUM, class sizes are small (1 professor: 16 students). You can work more closely with your classmates and professors. Also, the Office of Global Initiatives works directly with all international students from the moment they arrive in the USA. We will help you with the application form and visa issues. We will pick you up at the Montgomery Airport, help you locate your apartment on campus, set up Internet and phone service, and find your adviser. Affordable Education: AUM's tuition is much lower than many institutions in the USA. Also, AUM offers scholarships — up to $4,000 per year for qualified international students.

Aviron Quebec College Technique campus
PrivateDLI O246875391161

If the 1930s defined an important period in the history of Quebec - then under the aegis of Maurice Duplessis - for the Institut Technique Aviron Montreal they represented the beginning of the adventure: indeed, it was in 1937 that the Institut Technique Aviron Montreal was founded, while Captain WJ Guy, an aviation pioneer, and Simon F. Flegg, a European educator and industrialist, pooled their talents and expertise to build a professional training school. The timing could not have been better, since the whole country was preparing for war: in a few months, the Aviron Technical Institute Montreal participates in the war efforts by training workers in the aviation industry, and this, based on subjects as varied as parachuting techniques, the transformation of metal sheets, assembly, drawing, welding, aeronautics, etc. This is how the first graduates obtain important positions, commensurate with their training, paving the way for all those who will mark the following decades. Aviron's success extended to Quebec with the opening, in 1961, of a second school. This booming business was nevertheless sold in 1991 in order to concentrate in Quebec the exceptional resources available to Aviron Quebec College Technique. Since then, the excellence of our teaching has never wavered. It is the result of the deep dedication of our staff, some of whom have worked at Aviron Québec Collège Technique for over 20 years. This invaluable loyalty extends to our graduates, who maintain close contact with those in charge of the placement service and educational advisers, even after many years. A winning formula? As well, ESL students receive a personalized program delivered by dedicated ESL teachers that focuses on rigorous academic expectations, English language learning, and cultural awareness. Why Balmoral Hall School Campus : The stately 20-room, three-story house was designed by John H.G. Russell and built in 1902 for Sir James and his family. After the United Church took over the property in 1929, the house was used as the girls’ residence until the early 1970s. The house received historical designation from the City of Winnipeg in 1999. Co-curricular activities : . Every weekend an optional activity is planned for students such as skating or rock climbing. Students may opt to go to the movies, bake cookies, or visit a friend’s house. Weekends can be cultural or educational, busy or quiet. Additionally, students are encouraged to take private music instruction, dance lessons at Royal Winnipeg Ballet, and more. Culture : Students will experience four very distinct seasons throughout the year. In September the leaves change colour and soon the snow will fall. As average temperatures dip to -25 Celsius in the winter, the Red River Mutual Trail freezes over for ice skating. In March the snow will start to melt and green grass will sprout again. Soon we will be planning outdoor BBQs when the average June temperature is +25 Celsius. Other key points : For more than a century, Balmoral Hall School has been committed to empowering girls to pursue their dreams. Rigorous teaching prepares students for academic excellence. Balmoral Hall students are risk-takers, their curiosity is insatiable, and, most importantly, they rise to challenges.
