Ascent College of Technology campus

Artificial intelligence is reshaping business—though not at the blistering pace many assume. True, AI is now guiding decisions on everything from crop harvests to bank loans, and once pie-in-the-sky prospects such as totally automated customer service are on the horizon. The technologies that enable AI, like development platforms and vast processing power and data storage, are advancing rapidly and becoming increasingly affordable. The time seems ripe for companies to capitalize on AI. It is estimated that AI will add $13 trillion to the global economy over the next decade (Source: Building the AI Powered organization, HBR, July- August 2019 issue). With the increasing pace of adoption, AI would become ubiquitous spreading across every aspect of business and touching our daily lives. Increased adoption of AI is likely to bring in security challenges. So for us at Ascent College, it made perfect sense that the next generation of labour force would be needed in the areas Artificial Intelligence for developing applications and as this AI based digital transformation takes shape, and this increased adoption would in parallel increase cyber security threats, requiring trained resources with expertise in Cybersecurity as well. The paradox is that AI would be used in Cybersecurity to protect organization from emerging threats. Eureka! This made perfect sense to launch a cutting edge college offering focused programs in the emerging areas of Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity. The college is promoted by professionals with vast experience in Collegial studies who are passionate to ensure the success of their students. Why Ascent College of Technology Location: Ascent College of Technology is located in Montreal, Quebec, the second largest city in Canada. It’s set on an island in the Saint Lawrence River and named after Mt. Royal, the triple-peaked hill at its heart. The economic and cultural capital of Quebec, Montreal is a cosmopolitan city that has a unique mix of old European charm and modernism. French is the main language spoken in Quebec, but Montreal is often considered of as a 'bilingual city.' Vision: Leading provider of professional training that equips students with required workforce skills to contribute in the emerging areas of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Cybersecurity and Data Science.

These activities may include such things as ice skating, whale watching, or visits to historical settlements, to name a few of the options. Please note : This is a program directed only to students travelling on their own. Because of this, they will be matched with a host family and placed at a school within one of the 4 Anglophone School Districts of New Brunswick (North, South, East, or West).
