Eligibility Criteria - Open to women applicants for 2026 entry to undergraduate programmes in: - Computer Science - Chemistry - Mathematics - Physics - Natural Sciences - Applicants must demonstrate satisfactory academic progression, achieving an overall 2:1 mark or above each year to continue receiving the bursary. - Priority is given to applicants from underrepresented groups, including: - Black and ethnic minority students - Students with disabilities - Those with caring responsibilities - Refugees - Students from low participation areas Bursary Value and Duration - £1000 awarded per year of study. - Paid for each year of the programme except for any industrial or professional placement year taken. Additional Opportunities and Support - Bursary holders can volunteer with current Women in Science ambassadors to promote engagement of women in science. - Opportunity to become a paid student helper. - Each recipient will be mentored by a senior female staff member in the School of Science to support their academic and career development. Application Requirements - Applicants must submit a statement of approximately 500 words covering: - Their interest in science or mathematics. - Ideas on improving recruitment and retention of women and underrepresented groups in science. - How the bursary will help them achieve their goals at university. - The bursary award is based on the quality of the statement and entry qualifications.
