The Master of Science in Finance is an applied, broad-based master’s program that is CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) -affiliated and designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills to work in a wide range of financial roles. The programme is best suited to those who wish to gain an in-depth understanding of the whole field of finance before choosing their preferred area of specialisation – the optional modules will allow students to tailor their degree to fit their career aspirations. Students will learn both how to evaluate financial issues and to improve the practice of finance. Within corporate finance, students will gain a deeper understanding of topics such as cost of capital and dividend policy, as well as investment topics such as asset pricing and portfolio selection. Students will also have the opportunity to explore international finance by selecting optional modules in international financial management, global financial markets and/or global investment analysis. Students will be taught by internationally renowned academics who are able to bring fresh insights into their teaching, both from their research and from their advisory roles on government policy and in industry.
