Loughborough University Sanctuary Scholarships offer full tuition fee coverage for undergraduate and postgraduate students who are fleeing conflict or war in their home countries. These prestigious scholarships aim to support asylum seekers and refugees by providing access to high-quality education at Loughborough University, a recognized University of Sanctuary committed to inclusion and acceptance. Eligibility Criteria To qualify for the Sanctuary Scholarship, applicants must: - Hold a conditional or unconditional offer for an eligible undergraduate or postgraduate taught programme at Loughborough University. - Demonstrate exceptional academic achievement. - Be from a region affected by conflict or war, where their life or their family’s life is at risk or where they face the threat of forced displacement due to persecution. - Be at risk of imminent imprisonment, injury, death, or persecution, or currently be in the UK with a return to their home country posing significant safety risks. Scholarship Value - Covers 100% of tuition fees for the duration of the chosen undergraduate degree (3 years) or postgraduate taught course. - The scholarship replaces any other departmental or university scholarships or bursaries already awarded. - Funded entirely by Loughborough University. - One undergraduate and two postgraduate scholarships will be awarded, with high academic standards expected. Application Process - Applicants must apply only after receiving an offer (conditional or unconditional) for an eligible course at Loughborough University. - The application is competitive and requires a completed application form. - Shortlisting will be conducted initially, followed by a final decision from a senior university selection panel. - Applicants holding conditional offers must meet all conditions to receive the award. Important Notes - Applications submitted without an offer letter will not be considered. - All parts of the application form must be completed fully. - Late applications after the deadline will not be accepted. - Applicants must provide evidence of funds for travel, living, and maintenance costs; a deposit towards living costs may be required. - Confirmation emails will be sent upon receipt of applications, and all applicants will be notified of the outcome by email.
