TRU International Social Media Ambassador Awards offer a unique opportunity for international students at Thompson Rivers University to share their experiences and promote TRU as a top study destination. This award recognizes enthusiastic, creative students with strong communication skills who actively engage in campus life. Eligibility Criteria - Must be a full-time student enrolled in a minimum of 9 credits during the semester of appointment - Maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5 - Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills - Show proven leadership ability - Exhibit enthusiasm for sharing their TRU experience - Able to commit 10 hours per week during the semester term Role and Responsibilities - Promote Thompson Rivers University through various social media channels - Attend and promote campus events such as Orientations, International Days, Back to School BBQ, and WolfPack games via social media - Write blogs on diverse topics for the ourTRU.ca website - Produce weekly digital content for TRU World’s social media platforms - Engage with followers by responding to comments and inquiries Award Details - Ambassadors are hired for the Fall (August–December), Winter (January–April), and Spring (April–August) terms - The award provides a platform to develop leadership and communication skills while gaining valuable experience in digital marketing and community engagement Application Process - Complete the SMA Application Form - Submit a multimedia piece as outlined in the application - Applications open two months prior to each term - Applications are reviewed the day after the deadline - Successful candidates will be invited for an individual interview - Hiring decisions are made within a week following the interview This award is ideal for international students looking to enhance their university experience, build a professional portfolio, and connect with a global community.
