About

Ohio Northern University is a safe and friendly residential campus situated on 342 acres in small-town Ada, Ohio. ONU is located within 90 minutes of several metropolitan cities, including Dayton, Columbus, Toledo and Fort Wayne, Ind. The campus is also four hours from Chicago. Some nearby attractions include the Neil Armstrong Air and Space Museum (first man on the moon), Ohio Caverns and the Wilson Football Factory (Super Bowl Sunday). Ohio Northern is an independent, comprehensive and private University, comprised of five colleges: Arts & Sciences, Business Administration, Engineering, Pharmacy and Law. Students receive high-quality instruction and hands-on, professional experience in whatever field they choose to study. Since its inception in 1871, Ohio Northern University has been dedicated to developing well-rounded students who are prepared to enter the work world and lead successful careers. Why Ohio Northern University Campus: Ohio Northern University is set in the rural village of Ada. It’s a small town, but they still do plenty of big things. And ONU is at the center of it all. Without the distractions of a big city, they hone in on exploring what excites them, solving what puzzles them and building strong relationships with their community. High-Impact Educational Practices: Instilling students with a passion for learning happens every day inside ONU's small, intimate classrooms. But it goes beyond that; they also believe in engaging and empowering students through an abundance of experimental-learning opportunities that happen outside the classroom. It's called high-impact learning – where students get the chance to roll up their sleeves, apply the knowledge they've gained, and actually solve challenges and develop solutions. Strength from Faith: In 1899, the University affiliated with the United Methodist Church and more intentionally embraced church-related values. From these beginnings, Ohio Northern University has developed a focus on teaching, learning, scholarship, professional practice and a campus environment that’s centered on students, service and values. Small University, Huge Impact: ONU has a rich history of academic excellence, and they're always evolving to meet society’s ever-changing needs. They’ve most recently been recognized for teaching quality, high graduation rates, commitment to volunteer service and, most impressively, providing a high return on investment for their graduates.
