Program Description Mark R. Isfeld Secondary School is named after Canadian Forces Master Corporal Mark Robert Isfeld who was killed while conducting de-mining operations near Kakma, Croatia on June 21, 1994. It is centrally located in east Courtenay amongst suburban houses and the Crowne Isle Golf Resort community. North Island College and the Comox Valley Aquatic Center is a short walk from campus. The student population fluctuates from 900 to 1100 from grade eight (8) to grade twelve (12). Formerly a middle school, Mark Isfeld has developed into a thriving high school with academic and extracurricular opportunities for all types of students. All academic courses leading to a BC graduation certificate are offered at Mark Isfeld.
