Explore a unique Bachelor of Arts and Science at USASK! Interdisciplinary programs in humanities, sciences & fine arts for international students. Apply now!
As the only college or faculty at a Canadian university to offer courses in the sciences, social sciences, humanities and fine arts, students enjoy unparalleled academic options. University of Saskatchewan's focus on unique, modern and interdisciplinary programming allows students to gain in-depth perspectives of their world on their terms. Fine Arts Courses in the fine arts prepare students for a range of rewarding and creative careers. Music students can supplement their education with membership in ensembles and touring groups, such as the nationally acclaimed Greystone Singers. Drama students learn to design stage sets and costumes, and combine many performance opportunities with theoretical instruction and writing workshops. Those majoring in Art and Art History can specialize in one of several areas of study, each of which gives students a genuine idea of what an artist is and does. If you envision a career in music, drama or art, we can help you make it happen. Humanities The humanities include several disciplines that focus on culture and the human condition. Courses in language, history, philosophy and religion help students improve their writing and analytical skills, and encourage them to examine the forces behind an array of events and issues—both past and present. Social Sciences The social sciences examine how societies function. Individual's interested in sustainability, curious about human behaviour, intrigued by the structure of cities or want to analyze systems of government, University of Saskatchewan's courses in the social sciences are an excellent place to start. In addition to quality classroom instruction, students can also take advantage of many research and study abroad opportunities, all of which will give a leg up on the competition when it comes time to enter the workforce or move on to graduate studies. Science Involving students in hands-on research is one of the main objectives, and science majors benefit from many of these opportunities. Students receive significant instruction in state-of-the-art labs and other innovative facilities, such as the Canadian Light Source—Canada’s only synchrotron—and the Vaccine and Infectious Disease Organization (VIDO). Graduates have gone on to become everything from doctors and marine biologists to Hollywood animators and CEOs of research organizations. Whatever they aspire to achieve in the vast realm of science, the University of Saskatchewan will help them get there. Arts and Science The Bachelor of Arts and Science (B.A. & Sc.) degrees are distinct degrees combining the science disciplines with studies in the humanities, social sciences, and/or fine arts. These unique and highly completive interdisciplinary programs are focused in areas of high demand and allow students to make connections needed to succeed in these areas. These programs are truly inter- and multi-disciplinary
