North Island College is a comprehensive community college that focuses on student success. NIC proudly serves more than 9,000 students annually at four campuses, a learning centre and through online and in-community learning. NIC is distinguished by their commitment to student success through strong partnership agreements with universities and colleges across BC, the US and around the world. NIC has been internationally recognized for its technology-enabled distance learning and responsive in-community programs. The Campbell River campus is located at 1685 South Dogwood St. and shares its location with Timberline Secondary. The shared location helps to ease the transition for students as they move from high school into post-secondary. It also provides opportunities for high school students to begin their Trades careers while still in high school, through the Youth Train in Trades program. The Campbell River campus is also home to the Third Course Bistro and the Centre for Applied Research, Technology and Innovation (CARTI). Why North Island College - Campbell River Campus Life and Surroundings : The Campbell River campus is located in Campbell River, on British Columbia's Vancouver Island. The campus has undergone a $17.6-million expansion project which will feature six inter-connected educational neighbourhoods radiating from a vibrant Student Commons housing an array of services for students. Designed to enhance student learning and exchange, these neighbourhoods will give every student a place to call home within a cluster of related programs. Facilities : NIC’s Campbell River campus is on one of the main north-south thoroughfares in Campbell River, making the location easily accessible. It is accessible by vehicle, bike and is served by BC Transit. Campbell River’s new campus is also a space for community to gather in the glass paneled new library or to enjoy tasty food in the cafeteria and Bistro. Experienced Faculty: NIC’s highly qualified faculty include PhD holders with international credentials, who proudly support students and their studies. Class sizes give students and lecturers the opportunity to get to know one another.
