International House (IH) Vancouver is a member of the International House World Organization, an educational trust founded in 1953 by John and Brita Haycraft. Their aim was to raise the standards or language teaching world-wide and this aim has remained central to the organization ever since. Scheduling: Programs conveniently start on the first Monday of every month (if the Monday is a holiday, it begins on the Tuesday) Location: International House is located in downtown Vancouver, a cultural hub surrounded by movie theatres, art galleries, shopping malls, libraries, and restaurants. Staff: International House Vancouver teachers all have at least a bachelor’s degree and an internationally recognized TESOL certificate like the Cambridge CELTA. Staff are also trained in approximately 12 languages.
