Scholarship Value and Benefits - Total value of $70,000 ($17,500 per year) - Optional internship opportunity - If not selected as a Bell Scholar, finalists receive the President's Scholarship valued at $20,000 Eligibility Criteria To qualify for the Marjorie Young Bell Scholarship, applicants must: - Be outstanding high school graduates - Demonstrate strong academic performance - Show leadership capability - Participate actively in volunteer work and extracurricular activities - Have relevant work experience - Exhibit good citizenship qualities Number of Awards - 8 scholarships awarded annually Renewal Requirements To maintain the scholarship, recipients must: - Achieve a minimum 3.5 GPA with a course load of 30 course credits combined between fall and winter terms - Continue community involvement - Submit a yearly activities report Application Process - No separate application is required; applicants are automatically considered upon admission application - One reference letter is required and should be emailed directly by the referee to admissions@mta.ca - An essay question will be emailed to applicants after submitting their admission application; the essay must be uploaded to the Mount Allison Application Account Additional Information - This scholarship cannot be combined with other scholarships - Finalists not selected for the Bell Scholarship are automatically offered the President’s Scholarship This scholarship is ideal for high-achieving international and domestic students seeking significant financial support and leadership opportunities at Mount Allison University.
