Charles Sturt University offers the International Student Merit Scholarship, providing a 25% tuition fee discount for the entire duration of the course to new international students demonstrating academic excellence. This scholarship is designed to reward outstanding academic achievement and support international students commencing on-campus studies at Charles Sturt University. Eligibility Criteria - Available only to new commencing international students studying on-campus at Albury-Wodonga, Bathurst, Dubbo, Melbourne, Orange, Port Macquarie, Sydney, or Wagga Wagga campuses. - Not available for continuing students, transferring students, international exchange, or study abroad applicants. - Applicants must meet one of the following academic criteria: 1. Australian academic progression eligibility: - Completion of an Australian AQF Level 7 or higher degree within 12 months prior to course commencement. - New to Charles Sturt University or new to the level of study (undergraduate or postgraduate). 2. General academic eligibility: - For eligible Allied Health courses (except Nursing): minimum 85% equivalent Australian Year 12 score. - For other eligible undergraduate degrees: minimum 75% equivalent Australian Year 12 score. - For eligible postgraduate degrees: minimum 65% equivalent undergraduate degree score. Approved Courses and Academic Requirements - Undergraduate courses require a minimum Year 12 equivalent score of 75% or 85% depending on the course (e.g., Nursing requires 75%, Medical Radiation Science requires 85%). - Postgraduate courses require a minimum 65% score in the equivalent undergraduate degree. - Eligible courses include a wide range of Bachelor degrees such as Accounting, Business, Engineering, Nursing, and various Allied Health fields, as well as selected Graduate Diplomas and Master’s degrees. Scholarship Value and Duration - 25% tuition fee reduction applied for the full duration of the eligible course. - Scholarship amount is deducted from tuition fees at the start of each session. Conditions and Exclusions - Scholarship recipients must maintain satisfactory academic progress and continuous enrolment. - The scholarship may be suspended or terminated if academic standards are not met, if the student withdraws, transfers to another university, or is excluded from the course. - Recipients are expected to actively participate in the student community and may be featured in university promotional materials. - Not available for students commencing online courses or studying at Charles Sturt’s international partner institutions. - Students with Australia Awards or Research Training Program (RTP) scholarships are ineligible. - Students cannot hold this scholarship concurrently with other Charles Sturt-funded tuition fee scholarships. Application Process and Deadlines - No separate application is required; consideration is automatic upon applying for an eligible course on an eligible campus. - The scholarship offer will be included in the student’s admission offer letter. - Applications close at 11:59 pm on 31 December 2026. - Scholarship offers can be deferred to future intakes.
