Program Description The goal of UIS Summer-Scope into Higher-Ed program is to give international students wide range of experience that will expand their horizon, while teaching new skills and knowledge, helping them to cope with multicultural lifestyle, and have exciting summer that will end with everlasting memories. These experience ensure that the students will gain knowledge through a university setting as well as activities that are planned throughout the camp. They strive to provide a valuable resource to the international education community by putting the student experience as our number one goal. A problem with the typical ESL program is that there is no specific focus of the program. Those programs are created for a general English improvement and not guarantee a success in English-speaking high school class. UIS offers unique ESL program that integrates Ontario Ministry of Education academic curriculums into the ESL classes to allow the insight into academic English, setting students goal higher than just “practical English” learning. UIS ESL students are better prepared for their near future. ESL program is offered at Ryerson University. Students have the option of enrolling for 2 or 3 weeks. Tuition The total tuition listed per year ($3,900) is representative of 3 weeks of camp and includes the cost of ESL classes, residence at Ryerson University, meals, daily activities, weekend activities, public transportation, airport transportation, custodianship letter, health insurance, and admin fee.
