The Master of Science in Economic Development program provides students with the knowledge and skills needed to effectively enhance the local economy, infrastructure, and services, as well as develop the workforce, improve business recruitment and retention efforts, and create sustainable communities. Students will receive training in utilizing Geographic Information System (GIS), IMPLAN, and other statistical and economic methods to make well-informed decisions. Directed study courses offer the opportunity to conduct advanced work in chosen topic areas that align with elective requirements for IECD certification. The program culminates with a capstone project, allowing students to prepare and present a significant independent project in an area of their interest or job responsibility.
