Program Description The Interior Design MA at De Montfort University is a creative, practice based course with an inspiring curriculum that broadens and deepen design skills and knowledge. Reasons to study the Interior Design MA at DMU: The course is relevant to working designers and newly qualified aspirational designers Provides students with the opportunity to develop, research and practice design thinking to an advanced level and to apply new and emerging knowledge to the formulation, investigation and detailed development of a personally selected design project Particular emphasis is placed on the integration of research within the creative design process and the effective rationalisation of the relevant functional, legislative, idealistic and aesthetic parameters Recent graduates, working designers and professionals from a range of subject areas, all keen to extend their knowledge, make up the multidisciplinary international community of the postgraduate suite of programmes within the School of Design Students can choose to undertake a year-long work placement, gaining valuable experience to enhance your practical and professional skills further Ability to work and study in a lively environment, where students will benefit from the advantages of both collaborative and individual developmental experiences After graduation, students will be equipped to function at a professional level, or alternatively, continue on the academic pathway to PhD level study The new Vijay Patel building has been designed to provide the space and facilities where ideas can develop and flourish for all of DMU's art and design courses
