This department believes educational experiences are best learned through real-world experiences. Accordingly, the University of Dayton offers several opportunities that allows students to apply the knowledge they learn in the classroom to practical business situations. They will learn about the financial process firsthand in the Davis Center for Portfolio Management. The center serves as a hands-on laboratory where students develop and implement strategies in security selection, diversification, asset allocation and risk management, while gaining experience with sophisticated investment management software. Also, get firsthand experience and learn the specifics of trading derivatives in the Hanley Trading Center. Students can invest real money - and watch it grow - through the Vertically Integrated Investment Program. The program consists of a series of courses leading to the seminar in investments, in which students will manage a portfolio that is worth over $20 million. An advisory committee of professionals from the financial services industry provides you with invaluable feedback on investment strategies. To prepare for their careers, students can concentrate their studies in investment analysis and portfolio management, or corporate financial management. The School of Business Administration’s undergraduate and graduate programs are accredited by AACSB International - The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.
