International direct admission to Louisiana State University (LSU) is available for international students with advanced English-language skills. The program focuses on academic, cultural, and professional growth to help students excel in school and prepare for a successful future. As international direct students at Louisiana State University, individuals will receive: Exclusive and rigorous academic coursework Priority access to in-demand courses that align with their interests Guidance from academic advisors and mentors Career development and networking opportunities Intensive classes alongside domestic students The field of construction management has experienced significant changes and growth in recent decades, leading to increased risk, responsibilities, and obligations for constructors. The Bachelor of Science in Construction Management degree program at Louisiana State University is designed to blend engineering, architecture, design, technology, and business to produce professionals who can effectively manage construction processes. Graduates of the program acquire industry-accepted skills and the necessary knowledge to fulfill their responsibilities and obligations as constructors. The undergraduate CM degree program at Louisiana State University consists of four distinct areas: General education courses required by Louisiana State University, including English, math, natural sciences, social science, art, and humanities. Engineering courses covering theory, design, and application. Business administration courses in management, accounting, finance, law, and economics. Courses specifically designed for construction management majors, such as communication, ethics, graphics, estimating, contract, project planning and scheduling, construction methods, cost control, administration, and project management. Louisiana State University’s Bachelor of Science in Construction Management is the only four-year program in the nation offering industry emphasis areas (IEA) in industrial, highway, commercial, and residential construction, as well as a military emphasis area for Adaptive Leadership (ROTC Only). Graduates of the program are equipped to manage construction processes, entering the industry in various positions with the ability to lead, problem solve, and innovate on projects. They are valued members of construction teams, participating in planning, cost estimating, scheduling, supervision, and commissioning of facilities in a timely, safe, and quality manner. Graduates interact confidently with professional engineers, registered architects, and owners to solve problems that may arise. As graduates gain experience and demonstrate performance, opportunities arise to advance to positions such as superintendent, project manager, CEO, or president. With their educational background and experience, graduates may also pursue roles as consultants or business owners in the construction industry.
