International direct admission to Louisiana State University (LSU) is available for international students with advanced English-language skills. The program focuses on academic, cultural, and professional growth to help students excel in school and prepare for a successful future. As international direct students at Louisiana State University, they will receive exclusive and rigorous academic coursework, priority access to in-demand courses, guidance from academic advisors and mentors, career development and networking opportunities, and intensive classes with domestic students. The Louisiana State University Computer Science undergraduate program, offered through the College of Engineering, provides students with a variety of opportunities to take courses in core and applied areas of computer science, as well as engage in research, summer internships, and co-ops. The program offers a flexible plan of study with four concentrations available: Software Engineering (SE) Concentration, Cloud Computing and Networking (CCN) Concentration, Data Science and Analytics (DSA) Concentration, and Computer Science and Second Discipline Concentration. By the time of graduation, students will demonstrate the ability to apply knowledge of computing and mathematics, analyze and define computing requirements, design and evaluate computer-based systems, work effectively in teams, understand professional and ethical issues, communicate effectively, analyze the impact of computing on society, engage in continuing professional development, use current techniques and tools, apply mathematical foundations and computer science theory, and apply design and development principles in software systems construction. The Computer Science and Second Discipline concentration allows for a 15-hour study area outside of computer science, providing overlapping curricula for dual majors.
