In Canada, the ability to communicate effectively in French (one of the country’s two official languages) is not only an asset but it can be a requirement for many careers. A written, spoken, and literary understanding of more than one language gives students a unique edge both personally and professionally. It is not necessary for them to be fluent in French prior to enrolment. The study of History encompasses all aspects of human experience, from wars to celebrity culture, and is constantly evolving as knowledge and perspectives advance. As a History student, they will have the flexibility to pursue their interests within the discipline and the ability to regularly collaborate with their professors due to our small class sizes. This program’s courses provide students with various approaches to the study of History and the necessary skills to analyze any issue within its historical context. They will examine historical topics from North America, Europe, Latin America, Africa and South Asia.
