The University of Dayton is dedicated to tackling the pressing issues of climate change and fostering a more sustainable future. Here, students can cultivate their passion for clean energy and sustainability, while honing their skills in designing, optimizing, and managing renewable energy systems. They will also learn how to assess and enhance the energy efficiency of existing systems, empowering them to become true agents of change in their local, regional, and national communities. Graduate students at the university benefit from the guidance and mentorship of research-active faculty, who specialize in several key areas: Sustainable design and manufacturing Clean energy and sustainability data analytics Energy-efficient buildings and decarbonization of the built environment Geothermal energy and geothermal heat pumps and seasonal energy storage Thermal radiation optimized design in solar energy systems Concentrated solar-thermal resources to produce process heat for power cycles These faculty members have led significant research projects funded by esteemed agencies such as the National Science Foundation, NASA, the National Institutes of Health, the Department of Defense, and the Department of Energy, among others. Through this collaborative environment, students are not only equipped with valuable knowledge but are also inspired to make a meaningful impact on the world around them.
