Catalog description
Explore Grade 11 at King's-Edgehill School! International students receive ESL support, IB options, and a diverse learning environment. Apply now!
Program Description In grade 11, students explore the arts, Canadian and world studies, classical studies, computer studies, international languages, health and physical education, interdisciplinary studies, mathematics, native languages, native studies, the sciences (biology, chemistry, earth and space science, environmental science, and physics), social sciences and humanities, and technological education. English as a Second Language Support Every student requiring ESL support will be fully supported by a year-long programme. Led by an expert time of ESL teachers and benefitting from the programming available at their language lab, students will receive the support necessary to reach high levels of English proficiency. IELTS and TOEFL preparation will be included to support students as they apply to university. International Baccalaureate Programme In Grade 11 or 12, students can enroll in the International Baccalaureate programme. There are two ways a student can be involved in the IB programme at KES: through the Diploma Programme and through the taking of individual certificates. The Diploma: Leading to examinations, the IB Diploma is a rigorous pre-university course of studies that meets the needs of highly-motivated secondary school students and fulfills the requirements of various national education systems. Certificate Candidates: Many students at KES do not opt for the full Diploma, but choose instead to take only IB courses which particularly interest them or which will be relevant to their choice of university and career path. These students only write examinations in their chosen courses and receive certificates accordingly. Tuition The total tuition of $58,800 per year includes the cost of tuition and boarding.
