The FIU Global First Year Program combines credit-bearing courses from the first year of a student’s degree with additional support services, instruction tailored to their academic and language level, and cultural experiences to help ensure their future success. The Global First Year experience provides more than just academic, language, and cultural growth. With the included Career Accelerator program, students can also gain valuable professional skills that prepare them for a successful career. The Career Accelerator is specifically designed for international students and includes: Four semesters of professional development and career guidance Skills-based training and opportunities for exclusive internships Unique workshops, real-world experiences, and cross-cultural group work Florida International University’s Chaplin School of Hospitality & Tourism Management is recognized as one of the top hospitality programs in the United States. With over 2,000 undergraduate and graduate students from around the world, FIU offers expert faculty, a rich curriculum, advantageous campus locations, and fast-track career opportunities in the international hotel, food service, and tourism industries. Undergraduate students at the Chaplin School receive a comprehensive education in hospitality and tourism management, preparing them for various careers in the field. The B.S. in Hospitality Management offered by Chaplin School allows students to choose from six majors to build a strong foundation in leadership, business, management, finance, marketing, logistics, accounting, operations, and more. Majors within the Hospitality Management degree include: Hospitality Management Beverage Management Culinary Management Event Management Hotel/Lodging Management Restaurant/Food Service Management Travel & Tourism Management Graduates with a major in Restaurant/Food Management can expect to pursue careers such as: Food and Beverage Director Assistant Food and Beverage Director Director of Banquets Banquet Manager Resort/ Hotel Food Service Manager Contract Food Service Manager Food Production Manager Food and Beverage Supervisor Banquet Supervisor Menu Developer
