The FIU Global First Year Program combines credit-bearing courses from the first year of a student’s degree with additional support services, instruction tailored to their academic and language level, and cultural experiences to ensure their future success. The program also includes the Career Accelerator program, which provides professional skills training for a successful career. The Career Accelerator is specifically designed for international students and includes four semesters of professional development and career guidance, skills-based training, exclusive internship opportunities, workshops, real-world experiences, and cross-cultural group work. Florida International University’s BA in History program emphasizes the importance of understanding the past to navigate the future. Students in the program gain critical research, communication, and investigative skills as they explore the complexities of past societies and their relevance to modern issues.
