Program Description The Extended Accelerator Program (EAP) may be completed in a few as three semesters and is for students seeking an immersive English-learning experience. The program gives you a firsthand, practical, and cultural understanding of the American University campus and the Washington, DC, area through its contextual curriculum. You may enter the program in the spring or fall and progress into year two of your undergraduate education with up to a full year’s worth of academic credits. Depending on your intended degree, you may choose your elective curriculum in social sciences, humanities, or the sciences. The School of Education (SOE) offers programs that prepare students to become P-12 teachers, educational leaders at every level, and researchers for careers in early childhood settings, schools, colleges and universities, government agencies, and community and professional organizations in the U.S. and abroad. The academic programs take advantage of the dynamic location in DC to connect students with professionals in a large array of organizations that complement their programs of study.
