The English Language Bridge Program is based on current research into proven methods of learning a new language. It is designed to support individual rather than communal learning, recognizing that students differ in the skills and knowledge they bring to the program and progress at different rates. The program is held at Fleming College Sutherland Campus, in Peterborough. Intense immersion, in and out of the classroom Students participate in an elective workshop, such as Pronunciation, Grammar Essentials, Social Conversation, Book Club, and Idioms and Expressions. These small-group workshops focus strongly on individual practice. One morning or afternoon each week is dedicated to a field trip to apply language skills to a specific situation, become familiar with Canadian culture and explore the natural environment of the Peterborough and Kawarthas region. Students have 24/7 access to web based language learning software.
