Program Description Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine offers an accredited Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree program that is designed to prepare our graduates for rewarding careers. At Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, students will find themselves challenged by a broad-based curriculum that is built to provide the foundation for an excellent education and entry into a variety of career pathways in veterinary medicine. The seven-semester pre-clinical curriculum is enhanced by hands-on clinical experience to help prepare students for the final year of clinical training at one of Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine's affiliated veterinary schools. Our faculty have outstanding credentials in teaching and research and share a passion for educating the veterinarians of tomorrow. Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine is proud to be affiliated with more than 20 American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA)-accredited schools of veterinary medicine in the US, Canada, Australia Ireland and England. This extensive network of affiliations makes it possible for our students to receive superior education while completing their clinical training. Our roster of affiliated institutions includes many of the top veterinary schools in the world. Ross' exciting international location can be an adventure, if you want it to be. It can be an opportunity to focus on tropical veterinary medicine, conservation of endangered species, preservation of ecosystems, zoonotic diseases and how they affect livestock, and much more. Our unique environment will challenge you to become engaged, compassionate, and ready to make a difference in the ever-changing landscape of animal health. Facts about the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine program: The preclinical curriculum takes place in St. Kitts and consists of seven semesters (130 semester credit hours) of specifically prescribed course work. Students may then begin the final three semesters (consisting of semester 8,9, and 10 – minimum of 45 weeks) of clinical training at one of our affiliated American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA)-accredited schools of veterinary medicine in the US, Canada, or other international locations. After completing clinical training, students are then eligible to apply and test for licensure to practice veterinary medicine in the US. In addition, students have the opportunity to undertake combined DVM/Master of Science (MSc) by Research degree programs, combining veterinary education with postgraduate level research training.
