Program Description This program is ideal for those who enjoy 3D modeling and 3D printing. Mechanical Engineering Technicians typically setup and program automation equipment, prepare and present technical reports and drawings, use precision instruments for inspection and material testing, and plan, implement and evaluate quality control and quality assurance procedures. The program features face-to-face learning from industry professionals to give students the career skills that top employers need right now. Highlights Extensive hands-on labs with current industrial equipment. Industrial automation including robots, CNC machining and PLC programming. 3D modelling and prototyping with Autodesk Inventor. Manufacturing processes including machining, metal forming, hydraulics, pneumatics, lean manufacturing, and others. Quality inspection and analysis of data. Graduates are eligible for the Certified Technician (C.Tech.) designation with the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technologists and Technicians (OACETT). Graduates are employed in many fields including automotive, aerospace, heavy equipment, manufacturing, testing and more.
