In the two-semester Mechanical Techniques - Plumbing program, students will learn to: Identify and install common plumbing fixtures in the multi-story KUBE structure Assemble various piping systems related to plumbing Interpret and create drawings, estimates and material lists Develop competencies in venting, waste and drainage systems Examine concepts in water and wastewater systems, including operations, backflow and cross connection Explore renewable energy systems related to plumbing Work competently with various hand and power tools Upon program completion, students will also have: Qualified for exemption from Level One Basic in class portion for the Plumbing Apprenticeship (Ministry of Advanced Education and Skills Development) An opportunity to obtain industry related health and safety certifications Certificates for IPEX 636 training and Viega Certified connections An opportunity to complete the Operation of Small Drinking Water Systems Course through the Walkerton Clean Water Centre
