Monthly English Program at the English Learning Centre (ELC) The English Learning Centre (ELC) offers a Monthly English program where intensive language learning is combined with cultural activities. From Monday to Thursday, students attend English classes, and on Fridays, they explore new places in Victoria, BC. Cultural immersion activities are led by Cultural Assistants, providing students with the opportunity to connect with friends from diverse cultures, practice their English skills, and create lasting memories. In the classroom, TESOL-trained instructors with teaching experience from around the world support students every step of the way. For those opting for homestay accommodation, this program offers a unique opportunity to live in Canada and speak "real English" outside of class in a safe and comfortable setting. Program Highlights: Six levels of general English classes: An intensive schedule of five study hours per day. English through Themes curriculum: Focuses on building confidence in presentation skills and written assignments through topics related to society, culture, Canada, and global issues. Workshops on international culture and conversation: Designed to enhance cross-cultural communication skills. Access to the ELC Learning Centre: Available during certain months, providing writing and pronunciation support and opportunities to practice English with others. Free and optional social activities: Guided by Cultural Assistants to enhance cultural immersion. Optional homestay accommodation and meals: Offering a safe and authentic Canadian living experience. 20 class hours per week (80 total program hours): Ensuring a comprehensive and intensive learning experience. This program effectively combines rigorous English language instruction with cultural experiences, helping students improve their language skills while exploring and enjoying the cultural richness of Victoria, BC.
