On your path to becoming a physician, build a strong foundation in the sciences at CUC as you prepare for medical school. As a medical doctor, you will help people maintain optimal health by promoting healthy lifestyles, studying, diagnosing, and treating injury and illness. Upon completion of medical school, doctors will choose a residency program within their area of interest and specialization, (e.g., primary care, orthopedics, radiology, oncology). Concordia University Chicago’s pre-medical program is not a major, but includes sequences of foundational and prerequisite courses for entry into graduate professional study in medicine. Students may choose any major, as long as they complete required courses for admission to medical school. However, the suggested pathway is the Bachelor of Science in biology or health science, as these will cover the most prerequisites.
