SMSU’s Bachelor of Science in Agronomy prepares students for successful professional careers in agriculture and related science. Increasing global food/fuel demands have created a real need for technologically-advanced crop production systems that are profitable and environmentally sustainable. SMSU’s Agronomy Program emphasizes a balanced and interdisciplinary curriculum to meet environmental and economic needs of the future. Agronomy students will study topics designed for modern agriculture including natural science, crop production, soil fertility, Arc GIS, precision agriculture and pest management. Internships and participation in SMSU’s undergraduate research conference create opportunities for agronomy students to have hands-on experience and skill-building in experimental design. Additional engaging lab studies are supported by the SMSU_Ag Field Trials located minutes from campus.
