The Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Plant and Soil Sciences program prepares students for successful careers that promote the long-term economic viability and sustainability of California’s fresh produce and horticulture industries. This applied, interdisciplinary program emphasizes practical, hands-on learning and includes industry or research internship placements that create clear pathways from college to career. Students develop expertise in crop management, including crop physiology and life cycles, while also gaining a deep understanding of the roles of soil, water, nutrient, and pest management in crop quality, yield, sustainability, and profitability. The curriculum aligns with the requirements for Certified Crop Advisor (CCA) and Pest Control Advisor (PCA) certifications.
