Program Description The undergraduate accounting and finance major offers the coursework students need to qualify for careers in the accounting or finance professions. The degree prepares students for meaningful employment in accounting, banking, corporate finance, insurance, investments and personal finance. The accounting and finance BS would be of particular interest to students seeking expertise in these areas without following the traditional certified public accountant track. The major also offers an option for accounting and finance students who wish to follow the traditional CPA track. Such students can fulfill the necessary CPA requirements by taking certain upper-level accounting courses as free electives.
