Finance professionals analyze capital markets in relation to risk and time factors to make decisions about saving, lending and investing money. Financial professionals may work with individuals (personal finance), businesses (corporate finance) and within government agencies (public finance). Financial service job opportunities exist in banking, real estate and insurance. Managerial finance and investment career opportunities include capital budgeting, credit management, portfolio management and personal financial planning. Finance majors may choose to become a Certified Financial Planner (CFP). Also available is an emphasis in real estate. The finance-real estate option is for students interested in commercial banking, real estate asset management, real estate investment analysis or corporate real estate management.
