Program Description Preparation for highly qualified mathematics teachers begins at Wichita State University! Throughout the program, you will experience a variety of field placements, instructional strategies, technology, and teaching opportunities, culminating in a semester of full-time student teaching. Coursework provides for a balanced blend of mathematics content and pedagogical skills. The Wichita State University English Education Program prepares highly qualified English teachers. This program provides opportunities for licensure in English Language Arts grades 6-12, or as an endorsement in middle level (grades 5-8) licensure. Course-work includes English and professional education content such as linguistics, literature genres, writing, literacy, diversity, ethics, and pedagogical content knowledge. Skills and knowledge are applied in field experiences throughout the program. This program is successful in graduating English teachers who fill the need for English teachers in school districts throughout the United States.
