Program Description This program offers more than 40 full- or half-year courses taught by specialists in literary and media studies. Our first-year classes will introduce you to a variety of novels, plays, poems, and essays while providing you with strategies for developing a clear and persuasive writing style. The discipline of English trains students to analyze, develop an argument, and polish writing and speaking skills. The department offers a wide selection of courses in the literatures of Canada, Great Britain, the United States, and other English-speaking countries.
