Program Description Led by a close-knit faculty of committed and active scholars, students are encouraged to broaden their understanding of Scripture, and to investigate the significant critical issues current within the vibrant discipline of Biblical Studies. As students advance in their studies, they will gain an understanding of the biblical text that is both comprehensive and profound. Students will be intellectually and spiritually transformed as they deal with a wide array of topics and issues relating to the production, transmission, collection, translation, and interpretation of the biblical text. Students and faculty together engage in original and internationally recognized research, and in the critical examination of biblical and related primary texts—in their original languages. In the context of this world-class education, students will learn to formulate their own contributions to scholarly conversations prevalent in the field of Biblical Studies; and will learn to communicate these ideas in a manner that is professional, compelling, and ultimately faith-affirming.
