Catalog description
Explore human cultures with a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology at UNB. Hands-on learning and research opportunities await international students. Apply now!
Program Description Anthropologists study humans: who people are, what they do, what they say, what they look like, and what they believe in. At UNB, Anthropology is a holistic discipline, meaning students will examine humans, both past and present, as biological, cultural, and social beings. Students will explore three central subfields – sociocultural anthropology, archeology, and biological anthropology – and students will have access to the expanded lab facility that includes a vast collection of human, hominid, and primate teaching specimens. People use a range of learning styles and innovative teaching methods, and students incorporate findings from research. The small class sizes mean greater interaction between students, their instructors, and their peers. Hands-on learning Participation in laboratory research and field activities Volunteer opportunities in faculty research studies and with partnering heritage organizations and not-for-profit groups Field trips, academic conferences, and discussion groups hosted by the Anthropology student society Skills students will acquire: Critical thinking Communication (written and oral) Organizational Technical Interpersonal Laboratory experience
