Program Description Political science is a dynamic, wide ranging academic field and, as such, our survey of the field will explore a number of its facets. Students will discuss some of the defining components of politics like the interaction between states and the market. They will explore the ways that values, ideas and culture can impact politics and political structures. They will examine the formal structures and functions of government. Students will be asked to consider the different forms of political participation. They will talk about the politics of developing and developed states, considering a variety of case studies including India, China, Canada and the United States. Finally, students will consider politics in an ever-globalizing world.
