UTP Stage II: Arts is equivalent to the first year of University of Manitoba's Bachelor of Arts degree. Faculty of Arts graduates acquire the oral and written communication skills, research abilities and critical thinking skills that are highly sought after by today’s employers in a variety of fields. For students who meet the mixed entry English language requirements and the relevant academic requirements, they will commence UTP Stage II with the addition of one academic English course to be taken during the first term of study. Upon successful completion of UTP Stage II, students transfer into the second year of their degree at the University of Manitoba, to continue with their Bachelor of Arts program in one of the following areas of study: Anthropology Art History Canadian Studies Catholic Studies Central and East Europe Studies Classics (with concentrations in Classical Studies, Greek OR Latin) Economics English, Film, and Theatre (with concentrations in English, Film Studies OR Theatre) French, Spanish and Italian (with concentrations in French, Spanish, Italian OR Italian Studies) German and Slavic Studies (with concentrations in German, Polish, Russian OR Ukranian) Global Political Economy History Icelandic Judaic Studies Labour Studies Latin American Studies Linguistics (with concentrations in Linguistics OR American Sign Language/English Interpretation) Mathematics Medieval and Early Modern Studies Native Studies (with concentrations in Native Studies, Aboriginal Governance Stream - with required minor in Business- OR Native Languages -Cree, Ojibway-) Philosophy Political Studies Psychology Religion Sociology and Criminology Ukranian Canadian Heritage Studies Women's and Gender Studies
