Enroll in Sheridan's Advanced Diploma in Mechanical Engineering. Gain hands-on experience with co-op opportunities. Apply now for international student support!
Program Description Sheridan College's Advanced Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology program, after building a strong foundation of mechanical engineering knowledge in first two years, students will be exposed to more specialized subjects in their final two semesters. Students will gain a strong understanding of niche concepts such as mechanical design, machine kinematics and dynamics, programmable controllers, fluid mechanics and energy systems, leading to better career opportunities when they graduate. Sheridan’s labs simulate the workplace, but they can’t completely replicate it. So, students will get the chance to put their new mechanical engineering skills to work for Sheridan's industry partners in two 12-month paid co-op terms: one after the third semester and another in the third year of studies. Students will also collaborate with peers to help Sheridan's partners resolve a real-world issue in a capstone research project. As a graduate of this program, students will have the opportunity to transfer into the third year of Sheridan’s Honours Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree (some bridge courses will be required.) They will also have completed all of the academic requirements of personal certification with the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT).
