Trinity Language Centre (TLC) offers university language pathway programs designed for students pursuing academic success. At TLC, language courses are delivered through an integrated approach that combines content-area materials with academic English skills in a caring and supportive environment. A variety of learning assistance options are provided to address the individual learning needs of each student. Unique Program Design: TLC’s language courses integrate content-area studies with academic English instruction, enabling students to make progress in both academic language proficiency and subject-specific knowledge. Various Learning Support: The Centre provides free Supervised Assignment Sessions and one-on-one tutoring to help bridge in-class and after-class learning. Individualized learning support is available whenever needed to enhance student success. Flexible Starting Dates: Each of the four levels in the Academic English Study (AES) program runs for 15 weeks, with 25 hours of teaching and support per week. TLC offers nine intake dates throughout the year to allow flexible enrollment. For the Pre-Graduate Study (PGS) program, new students are accepted in January, May, and September. Specified Placement Test and Preparation Course: Students with valid IELTS or TOEFL scores are placed according to their results. Those without valid scores take the TLC In-House Placement Test to determine the appropriate learning level. The placement test is offered several times each semester, providing multiple opportunities for prospective students to participate. Convenient Locations: TLC operates at both the Richmond and Langley campuses of Trinity Western University. The Richmond Campus is within walking distance of SkyTrain stations, bus stops, a public library, shopping centers, and restaurants. The Langley Campus is located on the main university grounds, near the scenic and historic Fort Langley—the birthplace of British Columbia. Note: The Academic English Study Program - For Future Undergraduate Studies - Trinity Language Centre program cannot be taken as a stand alone program. It must be taken in conjunction with an academic program.
