Field experiences in forests, wetlands, and water are to be expected for students in this program, with a focus on habitats, animal populations and communities, people management, rather than individual animals. Graduates may find employment in state or federal wildlife and fisheries or land management agencies, non-governmental organizations like The Nature Conservancy, private or publicly-held environmental consulting firms, or pursue veterinary school or graduate education for advanced, research-oriented degrees. The Bachelor of Science in Natural Resource Ecology and Management offers unique facilities and resources, including access to the School’s Lee Memorial Forest with dorms and teaching facilities, as well as vans and trucks for off-campus field trips and activities. Students in the program have the option to specialize in areas such as Conservation Biology, Fisheries and Aquaculture, Wildlife Ecology, Wildlife Habitat Conservation and Management, Wetland Science, Ecological Restoration, Forest Enterprise, Forest Resource Management, Pre-Veterinary Medicine, or the Wetland Science Concentration.
