The Academic Accelerator Program (AAP) is a balanced first-year program for international students with good English-language skills. It supplements immersive classes taught in English with just the right amount of support. As a student in the Academic Accelerator, learners will receive: The right amount of support for their academic and English-speaking needs A full year’s worth of college credits Access to courses exclusively for international students English-language help with words they need to know for their classes A mix of classes with international and the United States students. Mathematics is beautiful, fun, exciting and powerful. Mathematics is the ongoing creation of a giant tapestry woven over millennia by human beings of every sort for reasons of their own, from desperation to inspiration. People pursue mathematics for money, for pleasure, for fulfillment, for entertainment, for status, out of envy, out of lust for power, out of hope for the future. In short, people study mathematics for the same reasons people compose music, write plays and design bridges. Mathematics major students will also develop widely sought-after skills including the ability to logically and critically evaluate situations including developing and implementing effective problem-solving strategies involving a wide range of ideas and data. They will enjoy relatively small classes with increased interaction with their professors.
