Program Description Academic Accelerator Program (AAP) is a balanced first-year program for international students with good English-language skills. It supplements immersive classes taught in English with just the right amount of support. As a student in the Academic Accelerator, you’ll receive: The right amount of support for your academic and English-speaking needs A full year’s worth of college credits Access to courses exclusively for international students English-language help with words you need to know for your classes A mix of classes with international and U.S. students UIC’s Bachelor of Science in kinesiology focuses on the study of human movement from the cellular level to the whole body. Through courses in anatomy and physiology, exercise psychology, biomechanics and aging, you’ll explore all aspects of physical activity. Our graduates are experts in injury and disease prevention, functional evaluation and rehabilitation, and ergonomic solutions that promise better health for a lifetime. Movement Science emphasizes basic science learning through a series of rigorous courses combined with the application of scientific principles. The program offers ideal preparation for graduate study or professional training in the life/health sciences. All kinesiology courses are taught by nationally and globally recognized leaders in their areas of teaching, research, and service who emphasize translating science into practice through hands-on learning, independent study, and internship experiences. Graduates move on to graduate or professional training and careers in areas such as medicine, health promotion, worksite wellness, research, occupational therapy, physical therapy, dentistry, pharmacy, personal training, health-related businesses, and other health-related opportunities.
