The Academic Accelerator Program (AAP) is a balanced first-year program for international students with strong English-language skills. It provides additional support to immersive classes taught in English to ensure students have the necessary resources for success. Students in the Academic Accelerator Program will benefit from: Tailored support for academic and English-speaking needs A full year’s worth of college credits Access to courses specifically designed for international students Assistance with English vocabulary relevant to their coursework A diverse mix of classes with both international and U.S. students The School of Kinesiology at Louisiana State University offers a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with various concentrations, including Fitness Studies, Health and Physical Education Teacher Certification, Human Movement Science, Physical Activity and Health, and Sport Studies. The Human Movement Science concentration is ideal for students interested in pursuing careers in medically related fields such as Occupational Therapy School, Physical Therapy School, Physician’s Assistant Programs, Dental and Medical Schools. This curriculum is designed to enhance students’ understanding of human movement performance, focusing on the scientific basis of movement, health maintenance, disability prevention, and movement improvement. The program emphasizes the study of normal movement and movement disabilities across different life stages. Students have the opportunity to gain practical experience through laboratory classes, field experiences, and internships, preparing them for both the workforce and further education. The program also helps students meet requirements for entry into professional and graduate programs in fields such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, physician assistant, medical school, and other allied health programs.
