The Academic Accelerator Program (AAP) is a balanced first-year program for international students with strong English-language skills. It complements immersive classes taught in English with the appropriate level of support. Students in the Academic Accelerator will benefit from: Tailored support for academic and English-speaking needs A full year’s worth of college credits Access to courses designed exclusively for international students Assistance with English language terms necessary for coursework A blend of classes with both international and U.S. students Kinesiology is the study of human movement and the practice of helping individuals understand their body’s performance, maintain proper physical health, and optimize their body’s potential. The School of Kinesiology at LSU offers a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with various concentrations: Fitness Studies Health and Physical Education Teacher Certification Human Movement Science Physical Activity and Health Sport Studies The Health and Physical Education Teacher Certification concentration leads to certification for teaching in Louisiana and most other states, preparing students to teach grades K-12 in physical education and health, as well as coach in various settings. Students have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience through laboratory classes, field experiences, and internships, preparing them for the workforce and advanced studies. Additionally, students can fulfill requirements for entry into professional and graduate programs such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, physician assistant, medical school, and other allied health programs.
