The Academic Accelerator Program (AAP) is a balanced first-year program designed for international students with strong English-language skills. It offers additional support to complement English-taught classes, ensuring students have the necessary resources for success. Students enrolled in the Academic Accelerator Program will benefit from: Tailored academic and English-language support A full year’s worth of college credits Access to courses specifically designed for international students Assistance with essential English vocabulary for coursework A diverse mix of classes with both international and U.S. students The International Trade & Finance (ITF) course delves into the international aspects of economics. Renowned economist Alfred Marshall famously described economics as the study of human behavior in everyday life. Microeconomics provides a foundation for analyzing decisions made by individuals and firms, particularly regarding resource allocation and their broader societal impacts. Building upon this, macroeconomics examines economic aggregates like the price level and national output, exploring the effects of monetary and fiscal policies. The Empirical Economic Analysis Concentration is open to BS and BA majors in ITF, equipping students with the skills to analyze economic and business data to address real-world challenges. For more information, refer to the curriculum page. Upon completion of the program, students will be able to: Recognize the role of supply and demand in a market economy Understand the essential conditions for effective market economies Discuss the advantages of market systems and pricing mechanisms Appreciate the economic impact of government policies and the Federal Reserve Evaluate policy options and their efficacy Recognize the significance of international relations in trade and finance.
