The Academic Accelerator Program (AAP) is a balanced first-year program designed for international students with strong English-language skills. It provides additional support to complement English-taught classes, ensuring students have the necessary resources for academic success. Students enrolled in the Academic Accelerator Program can expect: Tailored support for academic and English language needs Completion of a full year’s worth of college credits Access to courses specifically designed for international students Assistance with English vocabulary essential for coursework A diverse range of classes with both international and U.S. students The College of the Coast and Environment (CC&E) at Louisiana State University offers a Bachelor of Science in Coastal Environmental Science (CES). This interdisciplinary undergraduate program is a collaborative effort between the Department of Environmental Sciences and the Department of Oceanography and Coastal Sciences within the College. With small class sizes and a student-faculty ratio of 3:1, students in the CES program gain a comprehensive understanding of the delicate balance between humanity, industry, and the environment. The curriculum includes courses in environmental, marine, wetland, toxicology, and related sciences, along with opportunities for hands-on experience, field trips, laboratory work, and study abroad. Students can choose from three concentrations within the CES program: Environmental Science & Research (ESR) Applied Coastal Environmental Science (ACES) Environmental Health and Environmental Law The Environmental Science & Research concentration is ideal for students who excel in science, math, and problem-solving, and who are interested in pursuing research or further education in graduate or professional programs. Graduates of the CES program have diverse career opportunities in environmental consulting, government, education, advocacy, research, and various graduate programs in environmental fields and healthcare professions.
